Featured Projects

From localized drainage repairs to engineered civil construction, HB Underground gives every project the same careful planning, professional execution, and attention to long-term performance. The work below ranges from regrading and individual drainage-structure restoration to complex underground utility, stormwater, and roadway improvements—demonstrating that projects of every size receive the same dependable approach.

Drainage Inlet Restoration

Safety Harbor, FL

Stormwater runoff had caused erosion around the drainage inlet, leading to structural deterioration and instability. Working from the engineer’s design, we restored the inlet, reconstructed the top section, and installed a reinforced concrete apron and protective walls to stabilize the surrounding slope and help prevent future erosion. The project was completed with final grading and sod restoration.

Engineered Retention Pond Restoration

Curlew Landings - Dunedin, FL

Excessive vegetation growth and standing water had reduced the effectiveness of this retention area. Working from an engineered design, HB Underground removed the overgrown vegetation, dewatered the pond, and installed a specialized underdrain system to restore drainage and improve stormwater performance. The new system was integrated with the existing storm drainage infrastructure and the site was restored upon completion.

Storm Drain Replacement

Shore Towers - South Pasadena, FL

An aging clay storm drainage system had failed, causing roof downspouts to back up and allowing stormwater to accumulate within the drainage system. HB Underground excavated and removed the deteriorated piping, installed a new larger-diameter PVC storm drain system, and restored proper drainage to protect the building from future stormwater backup.

Stormwater Retention Area Restoration

Eagles Nest - Wesley Chapel, FL

Sediment accumulation and natural erosion had reduced the capacity of multiple stormwater retention areas, preventing them from functioning as originally designed. We excavated the accumulated material, restored the engineered grades, and completed final sod restoration to return the drainage areas to service. More than 20 retention areas were restored as part of the overall project.

Storm Structure Replacements and Utility Conflict Resolution

Sunset Palms - Pinellas Park, FL

During the restoration of a deteriorated storm drainage system, an existing sewer line was found passing through the storm pipe, creating a complex underground utility conflict. Working from the engineer’s design, we relocated the affected sewer connection, installed new ductile iron piping, and constructed a cast-in-place conflict storm structure around the crossing. The project also included the replacement of multiple deteriorated drainage structures and connecting storm piping throughout the community.

Roadway Reconstruction and Underdrain Installation

Fairway Village - Largo, FL

Poor soil permeability had contributed to drainage issues affecting approximately 700 feet of roadway and its structural support. Working from an engineered design, HB Underground installed a continuous underdrain system along both sides of the roadway to improve subsurface drainage and direct groundwater into the existing storm drainage system. The project also included replacement of damaged storm piping, reconstruction of concrete curbs, sidewalks, and driveways, full roadway base reconstruction with compacted lifts, preparation of the roadway for final paving, and final site restoration.
